MIP wall plates from Whirlwind offer custom solutions in either black or brushed stainless steel.
MIP1This product accepts stereo RCA, 3.5mm TRS inputs (summed to mono) or a low Wattage power amplifier output i.e. projector’s speaker out. A 16 Ohm 5 Watt load resistor is provided. The signal is converted with a Whirlwind DImax transformer to Low-Z mic level and is output via rear mounted screw terminals. A ground lift is provided to break the ground connection from the line in to the output. Additionally a female XLR is provided with rear screw terminals.
MIP2This product accepts stereo RCA and 3.5mm TRS inputs (summed to mono), The signal is converted with a Whirlwind DImax transformer toLow-Z mic level and is output via screw terminals. A 20 dB pad is provided to attenuate hot inputs and a ground lift is provided to break the ground connection from the input to the output.MIP3This product accepts stereo RCA or 3.5mm TRS inputs with a mic input and mixes both at mic level on screw type terminal strips. The RCA and 3.5mm TRS inputs have an attenuation pot for blending line input levels with microphone. Phantom power will pass from the output terminals to the mic input. This is essentially the podMIX with screw terminal outputs on a wallplate.
MIP4This product (A wall plate version of our popular pcDI) is perfect for interfacing the outputs of CD players, computer sound cards, iPODs® / MP3 players, tape decks, etc. with professional, balanced, low impedance equipment. This unit contains two separate DIs - input your signals with one 3.5mm (1/8") mini TRS stereo jack, color coded RCA phono jacks or 1/4" TS input jacks. The RCA and 3.5 mm jacks are wired in parallel if a through connection is required. Outputs are on the rear via 3.5 mm screw type removable plugs (Phoenix 1984329 or equivalent). The Mip4 has a Ground Lift switch to help eliminate hum and buzz, a Stereo/Mono switch for stereo operation or safely combine both inputs into a mono signal sent to both outputs, and a 20dB pad switch for connection to "hot" input signals.
MIP5The MIP5 is a stereo line balancing plate. Stereo inputs can be connected to the 3.5mm TRS jack (tip is left, ring is right) or the left and right RCA jacks. Two balancing transformers are provided, one for the left channel and one for right. Left and right output connections are made via individual 3 pin pluggable screw terminals. A Stereo/Mono switch is provided which combines left and right together and feeds the summed mono signal to both outputs. A Ground Lift switch breaks the ground connection between the inputs and the output screw terminals. Insertion loss is approximately 1.2 dB for stereo inputs, 1.7 dB for summed inputs and 7.7 dB for a single mono source, measured into a 2 kOhm load. Part #MIP5S Clear; #MIP5B Black
MIP6The MIP6 is a stereo to mono line converter and balancing device. Stereo inputs can be connected to the 3.5mm TRS jack or the left and right RCA jacks. The inputs are permanently summed to mono and balanced with a single 1:1 transformer. A single 3 pin screw terminal plug is provided for output connection. A Ground Lift switch breaks the ground connection between the inputs and the output screw terminal. Insertion loss is approximately 1.7 dB for summed inputs and 7.7 dB for a single mono source, measured into a 2 kOhm load. Part #MIP6S Clear; #MIP6B Black
MIP7The MIP7 permits the connection of a microphone or line source to a single mic input of a remote audio processor. The mic input XLR is connected directly to the output screw terminal plug. Set the audio processor channel gain for the desired system level of the MIP7 mic output. A stereo line source can be connected to the 3.5mm TRS jack. Left and right are automatically summed to mono and applied to the line input volume control. This pot allows adjustment of the line input to avoid overdriving the mic preamp in the remote processor. Condenser mics can receive phantom power from the processor. Use only one input of the MIP7 at a time. Do not use the mic and line inputs simultaneously.
